La Fille du Chef was published September 15, 1953. The English title is The Chief's Daughter, Mogomog. The "official" edition size is 350. The catalog raisonné by Richard Miles specifies "fewer than 90 impressions" as actually printed edition size. Carver was Maeda, printer Onodera. Richard Miles comments this print:

"Using an old painting from the thirties, Jacoulet experimented with two totally different color schemes for this striking portrait of a young girl from the tiny Yap island called Mogomog. The style of the face is very different from the highly realistic studies he was making for prints to be made into blocks directly from drawings. Originally conceived in pale pastel yellows and pinks, 'La Fille du Chef' finished as perhaps the most innovative color print of the artist's last years. Nevertheless, it was poorly received by the subscribers, and few copies have survived."
