Cypress and leather Butaque sling chairs designed by Cuban designer Clara Porset. These all came out of Stanford university. From 1935 until Porset's death, she lived and worked mainly in Mexico, where she is considered a pioneer in furniture design. She is best remembered for her reinterpretation of the butaque chair in the 1940's and 1950's, a low, curved lounge chair with a long history in Mexico. These chairs can be sold as a pair or individually. Both in excellent condition with some signs of wear to finish- edge wear on arms, dings here and there. Patina pattern/ staining is original to tanning process.
